Drawing upon her built environment and regeneration expertise, Janine’s work at Communications Potential focusses on stakeholder and community engagement for large scale, mixed-use developments comprising multiple developers, funders and political parties.
Prior to joining Communications Potential, Janine spent a combined six years working in land, planning and new business for a national housebuilder and then a regeneration-focussed developer. Among Janine’s top tender wins is a £400m, multi-phase, four-hectare brownfield site delivering 1,000+ new homes and 9,300 sq.ft of non-residential space in RBKuT Kingston. Managing the planning and partnership processes on multi-phase, mixed-use developments of up to 3,000 new homes, Janine confidently addresses obstacles and competing priorities in a complex project including myriad drivers and stakeholders.
Before moving into the private sector, Janine spent four years in resident engagement, housing management, development and policy in the public sector. This was followed by three years leading on Local Authority stakeholder consultation and community engagement for a South London estate regeneration scheme. Her successful development of the complex project’s masterplan and SPD is testament to a pragmatic approach, negotiating balanced messaging whilst building positive, solution-focussed, relationships with partners.
Janine is a Board member for the CIC Women in Social Housing (WISH), and encourages female talent in the industry. As well as lecturing to MA Urban Regeneration students over a five year period, she enjoys speaking at educational events.
Outside of Communications Potential, her love of design and the built environment means Janine can often be found photographing brutalist buildings, completing her LSoH landscaping course, and designing additions to her never-ending house renovation. She has lived in five countries across three continents, and when not covered in mud or paint, links this love of travel with music by booking tickets to gigs in cities yet to be visited.
